One style I am so excited about this season is the abundance of suede and corduroy. It’s impossible to walk into a store these days and not see it. I have always loved suede during the fall. I have a suede jacket that I practically live in. This year I knew I wanted to add a few more pieces with texture to layer into my wardrobe. Fall is the best season to play with different materials. The crisp air is ideal for cozy sweaters, suede boots, leather jackets… corduroy skirts!
We are seeing so many 60s inspired pieces this season and I can’t say I’m upset about it! The 60s Mod era is back with an emphasis on mini skirts, bold colors, and geometric patterns. The mini skirt is a classic, although it can fade in popularity from season to season, we always welcome it back. There is something so effortlessly chic about it. A mini with a pair of Mary Jane’s is an instant hit. I guess we have Twiggy to thank for that!
This skirt is such a great piece because it is long enough to be work appropriate, which can be hard to achieve with a mini. The corduroy texture is soft and comfortable and I am in love with the rich color. It is the first piece of corduroy clothing I have owned since I was a kid and I love it so much that I am questioning why I ever stopped wearing it!
Another piece making a big splash this fall is the silk blouse. I love this high-neck top with the ruffle detail. It feels like a mix of Victorian and 70s which I think is why I love it so much! The color is a beautiful ivory and will be perfect with ivory pants around the holidays. I also love it in this dusty rose color which is turning out to be the color of the season.
Speaking of dusty rose… this bag is one of my favorites. I will always try to sneak a little blush into my looks because it is my favorite color and I consider it a neutral. I love blush with cognac. It’s such a pretty color combination and doesn’t feel “too fall” since we are still in between seasons. I also wanted to bring in a hint of suede with my accessories. These suede block heels are a must for both fashion and comfort. With so many amazing suede and velvet options out this season, I am having a hard time not buying them all. These flats are at the top of my list (there’s that dusty rose again!).
How are you planning to bring texture into you looks this fall? Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful week! xo Bryn
