Last weekend my mom and I decided to head south on I-35 to Waco, TX to visit Magnolia Market at the Silos. If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last couple of years, then you know that the Gaines family is on their way to world domination. Chip and Joanna are the perfect example of a couple that bring out the best in each other. Their creativity is so inspiring and I always love watching what they create together.
My mom and I have been watching Fixer Upper since the beginning (as avid HGTV watchers) so we couldn’t resist a trip down together. Waco is only a couple of hours from where we are so it’s a quick day trip. We headed out mid-morning on Friday hoping to arrive just in time for lunch. We had heard that there would be food trucks so I came hungry.
Magnolia Market at the Silos is exactly how you would imagine a Chip and Jo Fixer Upper to be. It is beautifully imagined and dripping in charm. I loved the white and black that she used throughout with the pop of color from the greenery. Joanna always does such a great job pulling a space together with the details and it’s amazing that she is able to do that on such a grand scale.
We waited in line for our gourmet grilled cheese and then went to find a spot at the picnic tables. My mom has visited the silos before but only during the middle of the week. We were not prepared for the amount of people that were there. Even for a Friday the lines were crazy! I would highly recommend visiting Monday-Wednesday in the afternoon.
The shop was beautiful but I have to say my favorite stop was definitely the bakery. The line was wrapped around the corner but they are organized and very efficient. And trust me, it’s worth the wait! Once you get inside you’re greeted with the most heavenly scent. You are given a card to write down your order to streamline the process. I had to exercise some serious self-control to not check one of everything! If you watch Fixer Upper then you’ll know Joanna always has the most amazing looking sweets around and these do not disappoint.
I love to see what Chip and Joanna have done for Waco. They have really made it a destination. There were so many people from out-of-state who made the visit the Silos (#milestomagnolia) which is so great to see. Are you as obsessed with Fixer Upper as I am? If so you have to visit Magnolia Market at the Silos.

I LOVE Fixer Upper! This looks like the perfect destination for me, unfortunately, it’s a lot longer than a day trip. I would love to see how she transformed the space and after watching their show (HGTV obsessed *air five*), I know she would have done an amazing job!
