If you have been reading my blog for a while you might know that Brian and I love visiting botanic gardens. We got engaged at the Dallas Arboretum and go back every year. It’s one of our favorite things to do because it gets us out and enjoying the beautiful weather. I also have a serious love for flowers. I wish I could grow a garden but unfortunately I was not blessed with a green thumb. So instead I just visit the beautifully curated gardens at the Arboretum.
This year though we decided to see what the Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens had to offer. It was the day after Thanksgiving and we were looking for something to do that did not include fighting the mall traffic. It was a beautiful fall day and we wanted to walk off the amount of food from the day before. Perfect day for a visit to the gardens.
The Ft. Worth gardens are free to the public so in my opinion they were not as nicely kept up as the Dallas Arboretum but still beautiful. It was the perfect time of year to visit these gardens since their huge oak trees were starting to turn and shed their leaves. After months in Texas I finally found a little piece of fall! The carpet of red and yellow leaves was amazing! We don’t get to enjoy fall color like parts of the country so I was in fall heaven.
The Japanese Garden is the only garden that requires an entry fee and it is breathtaking! The garden transports you completely. The winding paths, the Koi ponds, the pretty Japanese maple trees, it’s all amazing.
We spent the majority of our time in this garden. It was so peaceful! I had heard that the color in the garden in late November would be incredible, but because of our very warm fall the garden was just starting to shift.
I have been living in my red coat since it arrived. You know when you find that one item that you fall completely in love with and want one in every color? Yeah, that’s this coat for me. As you may have noticed, I love coats. This tailored, masculine coat is by far my favorite silhouette. You can’t go wrong with something so classic.
I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! Than you so much for stopping by! xo Bryn
