In all my years I don’t think I have ever found a piece of clothing that makes me feel the way a great little black dress does. I have always loved wearing black. Black is so classic and looks great on everyone. It’s slimming, allows you to explore different pops of color and is acceptable for any occasion. Also, if it’s good enough for Coco Chanel, then sign me up! Wearing black doesn’t have to be dark or depressing. It can be such an empowering color when it’s styled the right way.
My favorite way to wear black is with white. It doesn’t get more classic than black and white. There is such a stark contrast between the two which allows each piece to stand out on its own. I recently saw this dress when I was scanning the Abercrombie & Fitch website. I’ve said it before on the blog but if you’re not checking this site regularly, you are missing out. They have some really pretty pieces for a great price point. Like the pink shirt dress from Monday’s post.
Midi dresses are my favorite style because they are the most comfortable and flattering for me. The second I slipped into this off-the-shoulder black midi dress, I felt great! It’s one of those dresses that fits perfectly in all of the right places. I love when a dress is both comfortable and still looks great.
As I said I love pairing black and white together, so I went with my white espadrilles. It was Sunday morning, so I wanted to be a little more “dressed” for brunch. I will probably wear sandals next time for a more everyday look.
Over the weekend we decided to try out a new spot I have been stalking on Instagram. George Coffee and Provisions is just about the prettiest little coffee shop I’ve ever seen. I have been anxiously waiting for it to open and now that Brian is home, we made plans to spend a Sunday morning catching up in this pretty place. Unfortunately I didn’t check that it would be open on a Sunday. Rookie mistake.
We snapped a few pictures and peeked inside which made me even more excited to come back again soon! Not wanting to waste a great little black dress, we drove to one of our favorite brunch spots and enjoyed a little time together before I headed into work. A perfect start to the week! xo Bryn

You’re making me love midi-length dresses! They look amazing on you! I don’t usually wear much black, but I’m anxious to try your tip on pairing black & white together. The light espadrilles add such a nice, summery touch to this look.
