I’ve been a little under the weather since I got home from Nashville. I think it was my body’s way of telling me to slow down. After working for a straight six days, hopping on a plane for a whirlwind weekend and back home to go straight back to work, it’s no wonder my body shut down. I’m not the best at slowing down and taking time for myself. I like to always be working towards my next goal. But this week I listened to my body and took some time for myself.

It’s been storming off and on this week which makes it easier to curl up in a cozy corner and rest. Brian and I finally made it to George, a new coffee shop in the area that I have been dying to try. As a creative, I am constantly seeking inspiration and beauty. George is a full dose of both with the added bonus of serving delicious coffee. We found a table in the corner and made ourselves comfortable.

It’s no secret that Brian and I love to visit coffee shops. It’s our weekend ritual and one of our favorite ways to spend time together. I love that we can be there for fifteen minutes or a couple of hours. There are no distractions and apart from the jolt of energy from the caffeine, it’s such a relaxing place.

Taking time out for your busy life can be challenging. We live in a society that equates being busy with being successful. You have to be doing things to be productive. And while I definitely agree that it’s good to work hard and pursue your dreams, you have to take time to enjoy the little moments.

The Micah is one of my favorite watches because it is soft, feminine and classic. All things that would describe my style. The first watch I ever purchased was rose gold with a cream band. I was about to start college and had saved enough to buy myself a nice watch. It was one of my first big purchases and I really cherished it. Now when I look down at this one, I’m reminded of that time of my life.

A watch can be so much more than just a way of telling time. Watches can be a reminder of times past or a celebration of new beginnings. It can even remind us to slow down and enjoy the present moment. Something I always need to be reminded of. xo Bryn
