On Monday I shared the first part of our day in Paris. We only had about 12 hours in the city so we wanted to make sure that we saw and did as much as possible. Even though I have been to Paris a few times I have never made it to the Palais Royal. Considering it is right next to the Louvre, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to visit. We were only there for a little while but Brian and I both agreed it was one of our favorite stops of the day. The gardens are lovely and not as crowded as some of the other gardens in Paris. It’s also a fun place to people watch since it’s obviously a favorite Instagram spot!
As you saw in this post, I wore my trench coat for most of the day. I have always found the weather in Paris in September to be perfect. It’s cool enough that you feel comfortable while you are walking around but it can also be quite warm with the sun out. I decided to wear a dress and my over-the-knee boots which worked out perfectly during the day. I did bring a change of clothes for the evening since I figured it would really cool off as the sun went down (I was right!).
By this point in the day we were getting a little tired from all of our exploring. When I asked Brian if he wanted to keep going with our itinerary (you can view the map here) with the promise of gelato at the end, he was game. Another area that I wanted to spend a little more time in was Le Marais. It’s quite the walk from the Palais Royal, but like most things in Paris, it’s a pretty one!
I could easily have stopped at many of the cute shops and cafe’s along the way but we stayed on our course. It is one of my favorite neighborhoods to wander around because each street or alley way offers something new and exciting. We stopped for a little treat at Amorino where the ice cream is almost too pretty to eat.
We took our ice cream across the street to Place des Vosges and parked ourselves on a bench. This is such a beautiful place in Paris. It was quiet and relaxing, which was just what we needed after a long day of walking. I’ll be sharing our last stop on Friday so be sure to stop by! xo Bryn
