It’s been a little over a month since my last blog post. I didn’t plan on taking a break but a few things lined up that just made it the perfect time to take a step back. As someone who is clearly not a full-time blogger, it can be challenging to keep up with everything that is associated with running a blog. When I started this little side-hustle, there was a lull in my work load for my day job. I had plenty of time and energy to devote to my passion project. However, over the past few months I’ve felt completely worn out from everything I have taken on.
There have been several changes in my day job that have me busier than ever. For those of you who might now know, I work in sales for a top builder in new home construction. The Dallas market has been booming which means lots of work for me during the day. It’s a great problem to have and I’m certainly not complaining. But by the time I get home in the evenings, usually around 7:30pm, I need to eat, relax and go to bed, to be able to start over again the next day!
This month I am also leaving a community I have worked in for over two and a half years, for another community. While I generally believe that change is a good thing it can still be tough. I’m leaving a place where I knew everything, everyone and felt completely confident and in control. Now, I’m going somewhere new and starting all over again. The positive to this, is I am able to grow and learn new things. But it still does take some getting used to.
With all of these changes the blog has taken a back seat. There are a few other factors that contributed to my blogging hiatus, but more on that another time. For now, I’m trying to take everything one day at a time. That’s really all we can do when life throws us a few curveballs.
So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I felt like I owed you an explanation since I dropped off pretty unexpectedly. It is my goal to get back into a more regular routine, but that will happen when I feel more settled. Which I’m hoping will be sooner than later! xo Bryn
