It’s been another week of rain here in Dallas. All I want to do is curl up on my couch with my cup of tea and listen to the rain tapping against my window. It can be so easy to talk yourself into staying home when the weather is dreary, but since we have been getting rain pretty consistently lately I decided to put on my rain boots and get out! Something that will always get me out of the house is going to the store for my weekly flower run. Having fresh flowers in my home brings me such joy, especially now that it is peony season!
One thing I do love about rainy weather is trench coats. With the cooler temperatures, this lightweight trench coat in gray is perfect for stormy days. It’s so easy to layer a trench coat over any outfit (see another rainy day look here). This trench is perfect for running errands during the day and for a dinner date with my hubby. It has a dressiness to it which makes it easy to keep it on in a chilly restaurant.
I layered this trench over one of my spring sweaters and jeans. I was inspired by the stormy sky and kept my look very soft and gray. Gray is probably my favorite color. I know that sounds silly, but it’s just so soothing and makes a great neutral. My gray Valentino Rockstud tote is my favorite bag. It was an investment but I knew I would be happy with the color forever. I am always more likely to wear gray over black and I like that I can wear it with pastels (seen here) and with my darker shades.
I didn’t want to worry about carrying an umbrella while I was running around town so my floppy hat and Hunter Boots were essential. I don’t think I will ever get tired of my Hunter Boots. They keep me dry but are comfortable and don’t feel too clunky like some rainboots can be. With all the rain we’re having I’m thinking I might just need another pair… maybe the Hunter Green?
I hope you all have a relaxing weekend (rain or shine!) Thanks for stopping by! xo Bryn
