One of my favorite things to do when I’m feeling like I need to get out of the house is go post up in a coffee shop for a few hours to get a little work done, or just catch up with a friend over a cup of coffee. I’m not normally a big coffee drinker, I’m usually all about the tea, but I just love the ambiance. Brian is a coffee fanatic, so I never have to talk him in to visiting a new coffee shop. We were down in Dallas for a few things (Pokémon Go was one of those things) and the mid-afternoon snack cravings started to appear so we decided to pop in to Magnolia Sous le Pont for a quick cup of Joe.
This particular afternoon was a steamy 106 degrees, so we arrived thinking we would grab a quick iced coffee and head out, but in typical Texas fashion, the skies opened up and a massive thunderstorm blew through. The temperature dropped about 20 degrees and with the rain coming down sideways, we decided to pull up a chair and enjoy watching the rain.
Does anyone else notice around August that you start dressing for cooler weather even though it’s still hot outside?! I am definitely guilty of this. I think it’s because the stores turn their seasons so early and I am always so excited for the new arrivals that I think “I can totally wear this now!” And while that is true, I am always looking for ways to style my fall pieces and still be summer appropriate. This striped linen tee is perfect for fall layering, but it was still breezy enough to wear on a really hot day.
I start collecting mustard pieces every year when fall comes around, like this dress seen in this post. I also love this little jacket to go over the tee. I think I gravitate to this golden hue because we don’t get too much color from the leaves changing here, so I find the need to bring it out in my outfits.
I pulled out my absolute favorite M.Gemi flats for walking around the city. They are by far my most comfortable shoes and I wear them with everything. My style is currently sold out but I am crushing hard on the new metallic Stellato collection that just arrived this week.
I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Thank you so much for stopping by! xo Bryn

Thank you so much! It’s the greatest little bag! xo Bryn
I totally do the same, mid August rolls around and out come all my jeans and longer sleeves. Where I live, it’s definitely not as much of a stretch as Texas, becuase end of August is when it starts to get cold anyways, but it’s not good to wish away what little warmth I have!

That’s probably very true! It’s easy for me to wish away the 106 degrees but we stay warm here for a while! xo Bryn
So cute! Love a good coffee shop, especially if it is accompanied by a thunderstorm 😉

That is so strange about Texas weather!!! I would be so annoyed to wear something cute like then all of a sudden a massive thunderstorm! At least you made the best of it at the cafe!

Thank you so much! It’s definitely one of my favorites! xo Bryn
Those pink loafers are one of my favorite pairs of shoes by M.Gemi! I’ve always found it interesting how the weather can change so drastically in the South — downpour for a short while that clears up to blue skies. Cute post, Bryn! x
