Labor day has officially come and gone which signals the end of summer is near. While the end of summer can be bitter-sweet, I’ll still be soaking up every last-minute left.Ā The cooler weather that September brings is always a welcome changeĀ from our hot scorching summer months in Texas. September is theĀ month I look forward to all summer! For one thing, my birthday always falls around Labor Day Weekend, and it also means we are that much closer to fall.
The rule that we have to put our whites away after Labor Day is a rule I am always going to break. I think that is true for most people. White is a year round color and should never be limited to one season! But, while white is always a great color, the little white dress is a true summer staple. Every year when the temperatures heat up, the LWD’s start popping up everywhere. I wear them all summer and for all occasions (more in this post). As the end of summer approachesĀ and the stores start to move towards fall I start scooping up next years crop of airy, white dresses on sale!
I am a firm believer that if you buyĀ quality and takeĀ care of it, it will last you a long time. I love to invest in good pieces that areĀ classic and I’ll be able to wear year after year. This Rebecca Taylor dress is one of those pieces. It’s well-made, flattering and will be in style for many summers to come. I snatched up this beauty on sale (more sizes here) with plenty of time still left to wear it. It will be great paired with boots and my jean jacket this fall, too.
Rebecca Taylor is one of my favorite designers because of the feminine but modern designs. You can always find pieces that will make your heart flutter. I am also loving this sweet shirt dress with rose details.
With fall right around the corner, I am so excited to break out the scarves. I am such a scarf person. I have way too many (is there such a thing?!). ItĀ is stillĀ too warm to wear them around my neck right now, so I add aĀ silk scarf to my handbag for a pop of color.
I hope you all had a great Labor Day last week. Do you still plan to wear your whites now that the end of summer is here? Thanks for stopping by! xo Bryn

Seriously adore this dress! And I could not agree more- I tend to buy quality items over quantity. Although, I do love a good steal! š
Also, any tips on sizing for this dress? Can’t decide which size I would be…

Thanks Chloe! Me too, I’m a quality person but even better when the quality is on sale! I went up a size because I wasn’t sure, but I think I could have stayed TTS. It’s a little big! I would say stay with your normal size! xo Bryn
How people can only wear white in the summer is beyond me! I couldn’t put all my treasured whites away for so long! I love the scarf on your bag, it adds such a cute element to the look!

Pretty neutral look, Bryn! The little white dress is a summer staple and I agree with investing in quality and breaking the wearing white after Labor Day rule. But I’m looking forward to blanket scarf and sweater weather and everything fall! Hope you had a nice birthday. xx
