In Friday’s post I shared our Christmas tree with you. Decorating my tree is truly one of the best parts of the holiday season for me. I love the whole process from picking out a tree to hanging the last ornament. Brian and I decided last year that we would invest in a high quality artificial tree instead of buying real year after year. I was a tough decision for me since I love real trees. You can’t beat the smell – although my fir candle does a great job!
When I started middle school my parents and I had just moved into a new house and the Christmas tree I had grown up with didn’t make the move. Our new house was just down the street from a Christmas tree farm so the day after Thanksgiving we piled into the SUV and went to pick out our tree. This was my first time choosing a real tree, and I was hooked! I loved wandering down the long rows of trees looking for that perfect one to take home.
I had no idea that there were so many different types! We always ended up with Noble’s because they were my moms favorite. And we definitely went for the biggest on the lot. My dad used to always joke that we got the tree that was the runner-up for Rockefeller Center.
Now that Brian and I are starting our own Christmas traditions together we still make it a point to go to that same Christmas tree farm that my family went to all those years ago. I still love to go see the trees and enjoy the crisp December air. We may not need a tree but I still pick up a couple of wreaths each year. It’s the best way to bring that natural Christmas scent into my home.
Christmas is all about traditions and spending time with loved ones. What are some traditions in your home? Thank you so much for stopping by! xo Bryn

It’s funny because all my life my family had a fake tree and I didn’t start getting a real tree until I met my husband. I do love going to the tree farm. It just gets me in a good spirit! I love the way you decorated your tree. So cute!

Love that pretty coat – especially the hood! And my family and I used to have a frosted fake tree for years, and then we switched to buying real ones! Although the needles are a hassle, I love the way it smells and it’s so fun to pick them out! We always used to decorate it together, but since I’ve been away from home the past few years, my parents try to hold off as long as possible without decorating until I get there!
