As I sat down to write this post I started thinking about my style. While I like to think my style is constantly evolving and changes based on mood and location, one element that seems constant is my femininity. I wasn’t always into “girly” things. There was a time when I wore the same shorts with everything and my barn clogs since I was way more into my horses than fashion. Middle school hit and everything changed. I discovered makeup and style and I learned what a playground fashion can be.
Fashion isn’t meant to be taken seriously. It’s a physical way of expressing who you are without ever saying a word. There is something therapeutic about styling. I know in the winter my choice in clothing tends to be on the darker side, heavily inspired by the grey weather. In spring I start to see more of a whimsical side come out. The brighter colors are a reflection of my mood. I’m always happiest in the spring!
The Target + Who What Wear collection is so good right now. I talked about a few pieces in this post. I just love what they have done with the season’s hottest trends. Ruffles and big sleeves are everywhere right now. And I can’t seem to get enough of blue and white striped tops with fun sleeves!
I wore this top with white jeans and a sweater to the Texas Tulips in Pilot Point (seen here on Instagram). But over the weekend we had such beautiful spring weather so I paired the top and skirt together to create the look of a dress. I have also worn the skirt alone with a light sweater. It’s always great to find pieces that can create so many different looks.
This is why fashion is so much fun. Styling the same piece so many different ways depending on how you are feeling that day or what you are wanting to convey is what inspires me. Fashion shouldn’t be serious and while the feminine undertone of my style is always constant, the way I pull my look together will differ from day-to-day. Do you notice a change in your style based on your mood? Hope you enjoy your weekend! xo Bryn

I love the top and skirt paired together! I honestly thought it was a dress at first, but knowing that it is two separate pieces opens up so many ways to style it! Great look, Bryn 🙂

Loving that ruffle detail! So chic!
I love your style and do agree it is feminine. I honestly struggle to describe my style. It went from feminine to classic basics and now trendy? haha! That dress is so cute!
