I have always loved getting dressed up! Every morning I look forward to putting outfits together and being creative with my clothes. I get excited about events that give you a reason to dress up. When you look nice you feel better and more confident. I am also a firm believer that getting dressed up for something that would usually be routine, makes it feel special. I would always rather be overdressed which is why I have such a large collection of skirts and dresses.
A couple of weeks ago on the blog (here), I shared this skirt and I love it so much that I couldn’t wait to wear it again. The ruffle hem and the bow at the waist are so feminine and flattering. The skirt now also comes in a khaki color. I can see it dressed down with a cute cotton tee and a sandal if you are wanting a more casual look.
I wore this last with a flutter sleeve tee so this time I went with something a little more “on trend.” I have talked about how embroidery is must have for this season on the blog (here and here). And because it’s everywhere I can’t stop stocking up on beautiful embroidered tops. This one has blue and yellow with just a hint of pink which happen to be my favorite colors right now!
The top is more open in the back with three bows adding an extra touch of femininity. I also love the eyelet details and pretty ruffle trim. It’s all around one of my favorite tops! I wanted to pair it with the skirt so that the embroidery popped against the dark skirt.
It’s always fun to get a little more dressed up, especially on the weekends. I wear business professional to work but that can get a little boring. Which is why I love throwing on something fun like a ruffle skirt and going out to brunch. Now don’t get me wrong there are always weekends with minimal makeup and casual clothes. But there is always an excuse to get just a little more dressed up! Don’t you think!? xo Bryn

I’m with you. I love getting invites to weddings, parties, graduations, etc because I know I’ll have a reason to dress up. I plan my outfits months or weeks in advance and its so fun for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of jeans as well. But dressing up makes me feel so amazing!
