I think it’s been raining since we got back from New Orleans! I actually love the rain so I won’t complain. Is there anything better than a rainy day when you can curl up somewhere cozy with a cup of tea? I love to post up somewhere and watch it rain. Especially if it’s a good thunderstorm like the ones we’ve been having lately. Brian and I found ourselves in Dallas last weekend to have brunch al fresco, but the rain changed our plans. So instead we headed to one of our favorite coffee shops to wait out the rain.

We’ve gotten caught at Magnolia Sous Le Pont in the rain before. It’s always fun to be “stuck” somewhere with someone you love. We talked about everything from books to travel plans over our lattes. It was the perfect lazy weekend morning.

I wore this maxi dress thinking it would be perfect for patio sitting. But it turns out it was just what I needed to keep me warm in the coffee shop. I don’t know about you, but I live in maxi dresses during the summer. They keep me cool when I’m out in the heat but they also act as a layer of defense for my legs in the air conditioning. I am always cold, so it’s the perfect compromise.

The polka dots are so fun and I love that it’s off-the-shoulder. It’s also under $25 so it’s a no-brainer! I also love this one with the ruffle top. And this pretty white midi is perfect for summer.  The polka dots went too perfectly with my pearl sandals and round black tote. My sandals are from Zara but I also found this similar pair for less here.

There is something about wearing polka dots that just makes me happy. It’s such a cheerful print! I like wearing things that elevate my mood. A fun dress can take an ordinary day and make it feel special! xo Bryn
