Hometown Adventures

I’ve lived in Dallas for the majority of my life. I love this city and I love that I can still have a new experience in a city I know so well. With so much growth happening everywhere in the DFW area, there are always new places to explore. Even little pockets I’ve visited before can feel brand new in a different light. The other morning Brian and I got up early and made the drive down to the Bishop Arts District. Brian has been dreaming of the Eggs Benedict at Oddfellows for a while so it was well overdue.

Bishop Arts District in Dallas, TX

We’ve been to the Bishop Arts District a few times (last seen here) but this time we were able to spend a little more time walking around. There were only a couple of restaurants open since we arrived so early (to beat the crowds) so the streets were empty. It gave the area a completely different feel than the last time I visited. It felt quiet and peaceful, which was a stark contrast to my previous visit. On the weekends or later in the evenings this place is bustling with people. I much prefer the quiet mornings.

Since it was still early it was cool enough for me to wear my new jeans. I’m so ready for fall and you’re already seeing that reflected in the way I’m dressing. I have been feeling much more casual lately. I seem to be looking for every variation of jeans a white tee I can find. It just feels the most comfortable for our transitional weather.

I don’t think there is anything more basic than jeans with a white shirt, but that’s why I love it. It can be dressed up or down depending on your accessories and it always feels fresh. It’s also the perfect blank canvas for choosing accessories that will stand out.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am a tote girl. I love having a big bag! I carry my laptop, sometimes a camera, my phone, wallet, cosmetics, glasses and a water bottle on any given day. This steel blue tote is perfect and even comes with a matching wristlet for my smaller items. The color will be beautiful this fall, especially paired with dusty pinks and rust. It’s a fun alternative to a black or brown tote. I also love this top zip option.

After walking off our breakfast we decided it was time to head home. Just as the sun was starting to heat everything up. It always feels good to get out and explore new areas. Are there still areas in your hometown that are still new to you? xo Bryn

I just love those jeans! They have a nice fit-not too tight! And, I have a lot of white shirts in my wardrobe, and I just keep buying them! The bag makes the outfit complete. Love it!
