This weekend brought us the most amazing spring weather. It was sunny and in the high 70s which meant I wanted to spend the whole weekend outside. We both agreed that the Dallas Arboretum would be the best place to spend a beautiful day. Dallas Blooms starts around this time of year and goes through the first week in April. It’s my favorite time to visit the Arboretum because everything is in the early stages of blooming. All of the trees are showing their buds and all of the beds are lined with the most amazing tulips.
If you’ve read any of my posts on our previous visits, you will know that the Arboretum is a very important place to us. Brian and I have been going to the Arboretum since we first started dating, over a decade ago. It’s also where Brian proposed, so of course we go back whenever we can.
I love being surrounded by flowers. Especially on a beautiful sunny day. On each visit we walk through the gardens in the same order we always do. This time we seemed to linger a little longer in certain areas of the garden. My favorite spot being the most perfectly manicured lawn that slopes down towards the lake. We sat there for a while, looking at the sun glistening on the water.
Since I am trying to make more of an effort to re-wear my clothes, I felt like this was the perfect day for this floral print skirt. The last time I wore this skirt was in the beautiful gardens at Hambleton Hall. I love when clothes are attached to memories. Wearing this skirt again took me back to our time in the English Countryside.
We stayed for the better part of the afternoon, until we felt like we had soaked up enough sun. There really is nothing better than the fresh smell of spring. It made me even more excited for the months to come! xo Bryn
