With each change of the seasons, there are a few things I always try to do. Spring cleaning is at the top of my list each year. But instead of focusing so much on the cleaning portion, I like to think of it as an opportunity for a full refresh. I like to look at the coming season as a chance to refresh both my home and my wardrobe. I get so much inspiration when everything around me is blooming.
The azaleas have been amazing in Dallas this year. They are inspiring me to give my own yard a little TLC. Every spring I like to take on a few projects around the house. This year it’s time to tackle a little landscaping. We’ve been in our home for a few years now and have never done anything beyond basic sod in the backyard. Brian and I have been spending a lot of time getting some inspiration from the parks around Dallas. So naturally, I think a few azalea bushes would be a perfect splash of color!
Speaking of splash of color, it’s always been a habit of mine to choose a color for the season. It helps me keep things cohesive in my closet. When you stick to a color for your accessories and the other items you buy throughout the season, you know everything will always coordinate. This spring I can’t seem to get enough blue!
I like to pick a color that feels refreshing after months of much darker shades. One of my favorite colors year round is blush, but a light blue just feels right for spring. Light blue pairs seamlessly with denim making for a monochromatic look. But it can also be a great pop of color if you need it. I recently received these wedges and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing them with everything.
As I said, one of my biggest inspirations for anything whether that be my home or my style, is what’s happening around me. Spring is always such a great opportunity for a refresh. xo Bryn
